Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is searching for an Industrial / Principal Industrial Engineer Level 2 / 3 to lead our manufacturing optimization efforts in Iuka, MS

Role Overview

In this role, you will work together with Engineering and Operations to develop and refine production build schedules, implement cost-saving solutions and drive efficiency improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand frontline problems and implement cost-saving solutions.
• Utilize Continuous Improvement tools to analyze shop floor practices and processes to minimize scrap, reduce cost, increase capacity and optimize schedule.
• Work with frontline leadership to assess current state and define future state possibilities.
• Provide tactics and training to frontline leaders and shop floor personnel to improve the current state and define future possibilities.
• Conduct studies and generate metrics related to efficiency, cycle times, WIP, manpower, cost performance and product delivery.
• Partner with manufacturing management to develop and track recovery plans that instill confidence within program management and customers.
• Apply systems thinking in developing metrics to improve product flow from raw material release through product delivery.
• Provide capacity planning, rate tool analyses and facility layouts to ensure ongoing success of composite operations.

This position is on-site in Iuka, MS and cannot be performed remotely. Travel is estimated to be around 10%.

Additional compensation may include overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives for senior positions. U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions with a government clearance.
