Indeck Power is seeking a dynamic and driven Procurement Project Manager to join our team full-time. This role is fully in-office and an Engineering degree is required.

About the Role :

As a Procurement Project Manager, you'll wear two important hats. As a Project Manager, you will work with the sales department until the lease / sale is closed, and then you'll lead the project directly with the customer through project execution and procurement, all the way to completion and contract closing. You'll support the sales team to position Indeck Power as the preferred supplier and become the primary contact for our customers.

In your Procurement Manager role, you'll lead the purchasing departments of our group of companies. You'll negotiate long and short-term strategic sourcing streams, achieve cost savings, align costs with job budgets, and ensure timely procurement of items. Both technical and contract negotiation skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Execute multiple industrial steam projects, from project specification review and sales proposal preparation  working directly with the sales team to being the primary client interface after closure and supporting system start-up with our service department.
  • Manage the supplier selection process.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead-times, payment terms, and other contract terms with suppliers.
  • Provide technical oversight, including procurement specifications for pumps, fans, motors, boilers, heat exchangers, and other steam auxiliaries.
  • Review and approve vendor proposals.
  • Lead the purchasing departments of our group of companies.
  • Manage change orders and field issues.
  • Communicate and interpret customer requirements to ensure the scope of supply meets expectations.
  • Develop and oversee project budgets.
  • Develop and / or review specs, system designs, drawings, models, engineering studies, etc.
  • Meet proposal schedules and adhere to timelines.

What We're Looking For :

  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred but other engineering degrees may be considered.
  • 10+ years of experience in the design, startup, procurement, and / or construction of steam plant / power plant equipment.
  • Working knowledge of contract commercial terms and conditions.
  • Technical and contract negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with mechanical equipment specifications, including boiler system auxiliaries.
  • Proven ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with ERP and Microsoft Office Suite; Microsoft Dynamics NAV is a plus.
