License : DC RN Licensure; pending DC license accepted but must have license prior to start date.

Description :
The position is for a Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit.
The shift will involve a variable schedule with a 50 / 50 split between days and nights over a six-week period.
Weekend and holiday coverage is expected as part of the rotation.
On-call requirements are not included.
It is required to float within units of equivalent or lower levels of acuity.
Candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience in high-acuity environments, particularly with telemetry and ventilator management.
Experience with pulmonary artery lines and post-operative cardiac surgery is preferred.
The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1 : 2 during both day and night shifts.
Daily census may reach 25-32 patients, with a total of 32 beds available.
Interdisciplinary support will be provided by various healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
Nurses will manage patients with complex diagnoses, including those recovering from cardiac and major vascular surgeries.
Essential skills include arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, and starting and maintaining intravenous lines.
Applicants must comply with flu vaccination requirements, with no exemptions available.
Only local candidates within a 60-mile radius will be considered for this position.
References from two supervisors will be required upon application.
No more than seven days of requested time off is preferred during the contract period.
The first two weeks of the assignment should not include any requested time off.
