Overview
We are a woman-owned, faith-based Texas law firm established in 1987 seeking an experienced Attorney to handle all types of probate, take charge of initial intake of probate and family law clients, make house calls and hospital calls when necessary, and draft excellent estate planning documents for everyday middle-class people. This role carries a great deal of responsibility and requires a highly analytical applicant with excellent negotiation and organizational abilities who is available to work full-time at our location, either in San Antonio or New Braunfels. You must be warm and friendly to put people at ease, and sales experience is preferred. You will handle probate matters from start to finish, conduct will execution ceremonies, perform initial estate planning consultations, and interview potential new family law clients as our intake attorney to transition the client over to a litigation attorney. This position is not remote and requires collaboration in the office when not in court.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with paralegals and senior partners to ensure swift action through the probate and civil litigation process.
- Analyze situations, understand clients' needs, and create strategic plans of action.
- Create wills, trusts, and powers of attorney for clients; prepare simple wills and execute ceremonies.
- Represent clients in court proceedings as needed and handle uncontested and contested probate cases (testate and intestate) from application to conclusion.
- Organize and maintain current client files; maintain accurate and organized case management.
- Transition potential clients into firm clients with probate and family law cases, and assign litigation matters to appropriate attorneys.
- Assist with initial consultations in all types of estate planning, probate, and family law cases.
- Meet billable hour targets; work efficiently and thoroughly while communicating status to clients.
- Be willing to become certified in guardianship matters if not already certified.
- Participate in firm community goodwill activities and relevant firm videos.
Qualifications
Texas law license in good standing; 5+ years of experience in Texas probate and estate planning law.4-year degree with a J.D. from an accredited law school.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to maintain professionalism under stress.Working knowledge of title insurance, wills, trusts, real estate law (residential and commercial), and related litigation.Experience in interviewing potential clients and transitioning them to appropriate firm attorneys.Ability to work in a non-remote, collaborative office environment; readiness to participate in in-person team activities.Commitment to high ethical standards and a reputable professional standing.Compensation
$94,000 yearly plus bonuses
