Blood Center Technician
We currently have opportunities for Blood Center Technicians in our Donor Services Department. This is a donor / customer facing role that requires a great attitude and excellent customer service skills. The start date for these positions is on November 10, 2025. The Blood Center Technician rotates between Stanford Blood Centers in Mountain View, Menlo Park, Campbell, and Dublin, as well as interfaces with donors on our mobile blood drives. Schedules vary anywhere from 5am to 1pm start times, including some weekends, with advanced notice of your schedule and work location published at least a month ahead. We seek candidates who are adaptable, detail oriented, and self-starters. You'll work with a great team of other Blood Center Technicians and Nurses as part of SBC's mission to help save lives. This is an entry-level position and you must have a minimum of a high school diploma (or GED) in order to be considered.
Work under minimal supervision and follow standard operating procedures to ensure exceptional donor relations and care. Determine whole blood and apheresis community and research donor suitability for blood donations and samples based on inventory need, including physical assessment, medical history, and mobile registration. Perform whole blood community donor venipunctures and research bi-product collection; treat donor reactions. Perform fixed site and mobile operation opening, closing, set up, and breakdown. Serve as float and drive SBC vehicles to transport employees, volunteers, equipment, supplies, and blood products.

Base Pay Scale : Generally starting at $30.80 - $39.26 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
