Responsibilities Work in a 45-bed Med / Surg unit at a hospital setting General adult Med / Surg patient population including post-surgical, orthopedic, respiratory, cardiac, and infection cases Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts from 6 : 30 am to 7 : 00 pm Required to work every third weekend and every other holiday First to float within skillset, may float to nearby campuses with 2-hour notice Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1 : 4-5 on days Epic EMR is used and recent experience is required Will be responsible for performing complex assessments, administering medication, and managing varied Med / Surg patients Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos May be expected to precept students or new hires in a teaching hospital environment Three call-ins may result in termination Covid-19 vaccination is not required at this time but is subject to change Work within a supportive team of experienced nurses Time off requests will be considered per unit policy Requirements Active KY or compact RN license required AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum two years of strong Med / Surg experience and completion of at least one travel assignment required Recent Epic charting experience required and must complete a checkoff class Proficiency in PIV insertion, chest tube and drain management, CBI, heparin and cardizem drip management, PEG / NG care, ostomy care, remote telemetry, blood product administration, and NIHSS / dysphagia screening Strong assessment and critical thinking skills required Must live outside a 40-mile radius from the hospital Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-622407.
