Mission Statement : The mission of Sexual Trauma Awareness & Response ® (STAR ® ) is to support survivors of sexual trauma, improve systems response, and create social change to end sexual violence.
Position Summary : The part-time Counselor / Therapist provides trauma-informed counseling services to primary and secondary survivors of sexual violence. This position is responsible for individual and group counseling, client screenings, timely documentation, and maintaining a consistent caseload of 10 - 12 clients per week.
Classification : 12 - 15 hours / week (part-time)
Home Office : Baton Rouge office, in person
Reports to : Counseling Director
Supervises : N / A
Salary : PLPC / LMSW - $45 / hour; LPC / LCSW - $65 / hour
Position Duties
The primary duties of this position are :
Conduct initial phone screenings to assess appropriateness for counseling services and make internal / external referrals as needed
Complete accurate, timely, and confidential documentation of all services in accordance with STAR's standards and professional ethics
Stay current with best practices in trauma-informed therapy and sexual violence response
Collaborate with STAR staff across programs to ensure holistic, survivor-centered care
Clock in and out using the organization's timekeeping system
STAR requires all employees to consent to and successfully complete a full background investigation, which includes a criminal history check and fingerprinting.
