Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift : 6 : 45 PM - 7 : 15 AM

Experience :

• 18 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• Must have at least 12 months of Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit experience.
• Travel experience is preferred from any number of months.
• Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.

Additional Details :

Previous Employment Requirements : Any Perm or PRN employee of Memorial must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler

Required Skills / Experience : Required IV therapy / Phlebotomy Skills / Experience : PICC Line Management, Starting IVs.

Preferred Skills / Experience : Telemetry experience

Procedures / Diagnostics / Treatments Performed on Unit : orthopedic elective surgeries such as total joint replacement hips, knees, shoulders, spine surgeries, trauma patients needing many orthopedic surgical interventions, osteomyelitis and other infections involving skin and bone needing long term IV antibiotics. traction, bedside debridement, complex dressing changes

Types of Patients on Unit : Adults, Geriatrics

Equipment Used on Unit : slings, walkers, canes, traction, casts, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps, syringe pumps, hospital beds, PAS boot machines, vital sign monitors, vein finder

Unit / Facility Details : 38 bed unit. Parking Cost : parking permit required, no cost. Will fill out form during orientation. ID : US Driver's license or US ID card. References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Shift & Scheduling : Shift : 4x12 or 3x12 Nights . Will work every other weekend

Floating Requirements : other med surg departments. Floating is 100% required of all travelers - Candidates will float within hospital or to an affiliate hospital / s near by

5 days maximum time off. Facility holidays : 01 / 01 / 2025, 11 / 27 / 2025, 12 / 25 / 2025. Number of holidays allowed off : 1

1 reference from last 3 years (Manager / Supervisor reference type) - required after submission

1 reference from last 3 years (Charge / Lead reference type) - required after submission
