We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Stamford, Connecticut, on a contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate processing of payments, maintaining financial records, and supporting the overall accounts payable function. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities :

• Process and verify invoices and payments to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
• Perform data entry tasks to maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records.
• Reconcile expense reports and resolve discrepancies with vendors or internal stakeholders.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries related to accounts payable.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
• Collaborate with team members to improve accounts payable processes and efficiency.
• Review and verify financial documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes as needed.
• Maintain organized records of invoices, payments, and reconciliations.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a related field.
• Proficiency in data entry and financial recordkeeping.
• Strong skills in expense reconciliation and resolving payment discrepancies.
• Excellent customer service abilities with effective communication skills.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in financial transactions.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Familiarity with accounts payable software and tools is preferred.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
