About Midwest Employee Benefits, A Division of Patriot Growth Insurance Services : Midwest Employee Benefits will customize medical insurance plans for both group benefits for employers and insurance coverage for individuals. In addition, our staff effectively customizes plans for both employers and independent people through group health insurance benefits and insurance coverage for individuals, respectively.

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Employee Benefits Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you will support producers and account managers in developing and maintaining strong client relationships, assist with sales processes, and provide exceptional service to both prospective and existing clients. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in employee benefits, grow sales skills, and advance into a producer or account management role.

Work Arrangement

This is a full-time position working in our office located in Sioux Falls, SD, with a possibility for a hybrid work arrangement.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Assist in generating new business opportunities by supporting producers with prospecting, presentations, and follow-ups.
  • Schedule and prepare for client meetings, including gathering necessary materials and documentation.
  • Conduct initial outreach to prospective clients and manage inbound inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate records of leads, prospects, and sales activities in the agency management system.
  • Collaborate with account managers and producers to prepare proposals, quotes, and renewal materials.
  • Provide excellent service by responding to client questions and escalating more complex issues to senior team members.
  • Stay informed about employee benefits products, carriers, and industry trends to better support sales and service efforts.
  • Support cross-selling initiatives and identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and agency policies.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
  • Prior sales, customer service, or insurance industry experience is a plus but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently as well as in a team setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable learning new software systems.
  • Must be willing to obtain and maintain appropriate insurance licensure within the first 90 days of employment.
  • This role is eligible for commission from individual sales.
