Description
Advanced Technician - HAC role located in Charleston, WV. Reports to the Field Service Manager. This role is considered an expert on all Sullair rotary / oil free products and accessories (except centrifugal technology) and on competitive rotary / oil free products, vacuum, scroll and other technologies. The technician trains other technicians on Sullair rotary products and accessories, provides maintenance and technical support for Sullair products at customer field locations, installs new products or enhances existing ones, and may provide training and best practices for on-site customer personnel. Responsible for identifying and troubleshooting malfunctions, scheduling or conducting repairs, preparing detailed service reports, logging maintenance activities, and coordinating with Hitachi Global Air Power departments to close issues in a timely manner. Supports the Sullair Training Department for customers, distributors, and employees. This position reports directly to the Field Service Manager.
Responsibilities
- Performs any needed service on all compressed air products, regardless of brand, except for centrifugal technology
- Trains other technicians on all rotary products and accessories
- Travels to field jobsites for troubleshooting and service of Sullair and competitive rotary products
- Follows standard work for pre and post service preparation (submit expense reports, prepare service reports, make travel arrangements, complete timecards)
- On call as scheduled for afterhours customer support
- Follows all Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Communicates distributor feedback to Sullair management as Voice of Customer
- Drives field concerns to closure in a timely manner
- Supports goal of service within the Service Department of 95%
- Contributes to positive Company branding by projecting a knowledgeable, professional, and customer-oriented image
- Performs all duties in accordance with company standards, while understanding the needs and expectations of the customer

- Must be fluent in English and have a valid driver\'s license; long-term validity with clean record required
- Must be able to lift to 50 lbs regularly and work in industrial environments including extremes of temperature with continuous walking, reaching, bending, and kneeling
- Will use company provided equipment and attend company provided training; must have own tools to perform duties
- Operate a company vehicle safely and in compliance with traffic laws and HGAP policies

The following training must be completed within 6-9 months of the hire date to satisfy the Advanced Technician tier within the HAC Technician Advancement Program.
