CNC Machinist's

Reports to : Manufacturing Supervisor

Accountability

This position is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing machines to produce high-quality parts.

Organizational Relationship

The Machinist position reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor and receives advice, counsel, and direction.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Reviews job package in its entirety, including routing, blueprints, specifications , and other documentation as appropriate to fully understand the process plan, part configuration (dimensions & tolerances), material, tooling , and equipment to be used to produce the product.

2. Builds setup per documented plan, utilizing knowledge of proper setup procedures, machining practices, material properties, and tool setups are built on equipment they have been previously qualified to operate, such as lathes, milling machines, and / or grinders, both CNC and conventional.

3. Operates production equipment utilizing knowledge of machining practices and safe operation

techniques to produce components and / or services that meet customer needs initiates change to the setup and / or operation to optimize production efficiency.

4. Verifies conformance of workpiece to specifications using appropriate measuring instruments.

5. Evaluates deviations identified in the machining process to determine the cause and initiates

corrective action if appropriate reports all deviations identified via Process Discrepancy Report (PDR).

6. Trains less experienced machinists in advanced machining techniques to aid in developing a higher level of technical competence in the machine labor force.

7. Maintains a professional & personable relationship with superiors, peers, and subordinates, being responsive to their needs as well as those of the company.

8. Performs other duties or functions as requested by their supervisor, or other authorized Midstate Machine personnel.

Shift B : Mon- Thu 6 : 00 PM to 4 : 00 AM

Shift C : Fri- Sun 6 : 00 AM to 6 : 00 PM (work 36 hours, but paid for 40 hours)

Quality control Inspectors

OVERVIEW

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that products meet all quality requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for visual and mechanical inspection of products ranging from raw castings to plated / painted products.

TASKS

1. First Piece Inspection – visual and mechanical inspection of first piece samples from casting and secondary operations.

2. In-Process / Roving Inspection – visual inspection at machine centers during casting and secondary operations, visual and mechanical inspection within Quality during casting and secondary operations.

3. Final Inspection – visual and mechanical inspection of finished product.

4. Entry of variable data into the SPC program for a product that requires statistical analysis.

5. Generate, maintain , and file required quality records and forms as necessary.

6. Assist with the general operation of the department

7. Enforce QA related policies and procedures as sanctioned by the Quality Assurance Manager.

8. Maintain the QA facility in an orderly fashion, storing all equipment and retaining samples in their proper location.

9. Perform other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Quality Assurance Manager or Lead Inspector.

EXPERIENCE

I should have experience in quality systems and maintenance, casting production processes, and secondary operations.

EDUCATION

Should have a high school diploma, Quality systems training, ISO training, or equivalent experience. Justave's knowledge of standard measuring equipment, such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and optical comparators. Also able to interpret product drawings and read and write in English.
