Description :

As a Counselor at BHG, you will assist patients in identifying and leveraging their strengths to achieve social, educational, and occupational goals. You will help patients prepare for and adjust to a drug-free life, providing emotional and physical support for various challenges. Reporting to the Counselor Supervisor or Program Director, you will ensure adherence to schedules, program policies, and all regulatory requirements, performing duties within the scope of your license or certification.

Responsibilities include :

  • Conducting alcohol and drug abuse counseling sessions and group sessions.
  • Orienting patients to treatment programs.
  • Developing and revising treatment plans, maintaining records.
  • Making referrals and performing follow-ups.
  • Providing crisis intervention and coordinating care with community providers.
  • Participating in training, conferences, and community activities.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Relevant human service-related degrees and current counseling credentials as per state requirements.
  • Experience in behavioral health preferred but not required.
  • Ability to make decisions, handle stressful situations, and demonstrate understanding of human behavior.
  • Compliance with all regulatory and licensure requirements.
