Wastewater Technician

Overview

Job Summary

This is a position that oversees, operates and maintains a complex industrial wastewater pretreatment system that contains a variety of wastewater treatment processes and auxiliary equipment for the processing and handling of industrial wastewater and generated industrial byproducts.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor all wastewater pretreatment plant equipment and make necessary adjustments based on findings.
• Take periodic samples and perform and record the results of various tests to assess and monitor the condition of the system and determine optimal chemical and biological treatment.
• Maintain the efficiency of plant operations, including maintenance of equipment pumps, filters, and machinery, testing, quality control and record keeping procedures.
• Read and record meter and gauge readings.
• Maintain plant records, including operations logs, daily diaries, computer data entry and chemical inventories.
• Ensure timely reporting to facility management if an upset or exceedance occurs.
• Performs ground maintenance and housekeeping duties as needed.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk or sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move objects. Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to stand for 8 hours and work 12 hour shifts occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

Summary

America's Heartland Packing is set to open its doors in early 2025. The 775,000 sq. ft. greenfield project will include a harvest floor, carcass chillers, fabrication area, rendering, further processing area, storage coolers, freezers, and loading docks.
