Associate Director, Research (Targeted Delivery)

Overview

The Research Department at Alnylam is seeking an Associate Director to lead a team responsible for advancing RNAi therapeutics into the future, by opening up targeted delivery to all tissues. The individual will need excellent collaboration and communication skills, connecting team members from multiple areas. The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of biochemistry / biological sciences with experience in receptor identification / characterization (unbiased screens) and affinity ligand discovery (antibody, peptide, etc.), This role requires in-depth expertise in tools and techniques to identify receptors and characterize ligand-receptor interactions. Expertise in ligand selection approaches (e.g. phage display, yeast display) is essential. Experience in the field of antibody drug conjugates is a plus.

This position is onsite and will be primarily located in Cambridge, MA.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead an interdisciplinary team to execute goals of targeted delivery into new cell types and tissues.
• Manage external collaborations relating to receptor identification and ligand development for targeted delivery.
• Establish tools, techniques and assays to identify new receptors, develop new binding ligands, and characterize ligand-receptor interactions, which may include recombinant protein production, binding assays, and cell-based assays to assess receptor engagement and functional siRNA delivery.
• Transparently communicate results with key stakeholders throughout the organization.

Qualifications

U.S. Pay Range

$169,000.00 - $238,200.00

The pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education. This role is eligible for an annual short-term incentive award (e.g., bonus or sales incentive) and an annual long-term incentive award (e.g., equity).
