Job Description :
The primary purpose of the Industrial Engineer position is to analyze, design, and optimize systems, processes, and workflows to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance productivity across operations. This role applies engineering principles and data-driven methodologies to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in areas such as manufacturing, logistics, quality control, and resource utilization.
The Industrial Engineer collaborates cross-functionally with production, supply chain, and management teams to develop and implement sustainable solutions that align with organizational goals and ensure operational excellence.
Responsibilities :
- Assist in analyzing current manufacturing processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization.
- Conduct time and motion studies to identify bottlenecks and suggest solutions.
- Assist in designing and improving layout plans for production facilities to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Support the development and implementation of quality control processes and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Collect and analyze data to support process improvement initiatives, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and report on performance metrics.
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cost-effective solutions to operational challenges.
- Assist in the preparation of production schedules, staffing plans, and capacity analyses.
- Participate in risk assessments and safety audits to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and optimize supply chain and inventory management processes.
- Document and report progress on improvement initiatives and provide recommendations to management.
- Manage project schedules and coordinate outside vendor services and costs to maximize productivity and on-budget and on-time project completion.
- Supervise the installation of new automated equipment or procedures and ensure proper operation through the creation of operating procedures and guidelines for new machinery or procedures.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.2-3 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.Master's degree in engineering a plus.Knowledge of warehouse machinery, processes, and ergonomics.Excellent project management skills.Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously.Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) platforms.Excellent data analytics, problem-solving, critical thinking, and influencing skills.Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Programs including Excel, Access / SQL preferred.Self-directed, self-motivated, motivated to develop and grow.Self-learning attitude to keep updated with the advancements in technology.Able to collaborate and effectively communicate verbally and in written form with internal and external customers and partners at all organizational levels.Mattel is an Affirmative Action / Equal Opportunity Employer where we want you to bring your authentic self to work every day.
