Senior Cost Accountant

A leading aerospace manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join its growing finance team. This role will play a key part in driving cost efficiency, analyzing production and inventory data, and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting related to manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of cost accounting principles, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, and supply chain teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and margins to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
• Prepare and review standard cost models, work orders, and inventory valuation reports.
• Lead month-end close activities related to cost accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
• Partner with operations to monitor material usage, labor efficiency, and overhead application.
• Maintain and update cost standards, BOMs (Bills of Materials), and routings within the ERP system.
• Support budget and forecast development by providing accurate cost data and analysis.
• Assist in inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure accurate reporting of physical inventory.
• Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting to management as needed.
• Oversee and review the work of junior accountants, providing guidance, mentorship, and training as needed to ensure accuracy and consistency.
