Responsibilities Position is on a 37-bed Medical Telemetry unit in a hospital setting Patient population includes CHF, atrial fibrillation, pulmonary embolism, pneumonia, alcohol use disorder, and dementia with cardiac co-morbidities Care provided for patients on Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Heparin drips, as well as post-pacemaker and post-cardiac catheterization Day and evening / nights rotate, with required every other weekend shifts; specific shift times may vary RN-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4 (max 5) on day / evening, and 1 : 5-6 on nights Travelers are required to float to applicable units as needed Uses Epic as the EMR system Provide care for medically complex cardiac patients including administration and titration of cardiac drips Work with a team that includes a charge RN without a patient assignment during the day shift on weekdays Orientation and respirator fit testing required, with preference for completion before start date Holiday coverage may be required as scheduled Dress code and scrub colors not specified; confirm before start Parking may require use of public lots or public transportation with associated costs Local candidates within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital are eligible, but will receive a reduced rate Time off requests must be provided at the time of consideration Requirements Active, non-conditional MA RN license required at time of consideration; MA conditional licenses not accepted Minimum of 2 years of recent telemetry nursing experience required Must have current BLS and ACLS certifications, American Heart Association accepted (Red Cross accepted at some locations) Telemetry certification required Must be proficient in reading and interpreting tele strips Proof of COVID-19 and flu vaccination required, with no exemptions allowed Epic experience preferred Two professional references required Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-592131.
