Job Summary : We are seeking a dependable and skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair the machinery that powers our mulch and compost operations. This hands-on role focuses on diagnosing, troubleshooting, and servicing heavy equipmentensuring safe, efficient, and uninterrupted yard operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment, including loaders, dozers, excavators, and screening machinery.
• Perform preventative maintenance (oil changes, fluid checks, lubrication, filter replacement) to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and manuals.
• Weld, fabricate, or modify parts as needed to extend equipment life.
• Keep detailed service records, parts inventories, and maintenance schedules.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop and yard environment.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Collaborate with operators and supervisors to prioritize repairs and plan equipment servicing

Minimum Qualifications

3+ years as a heavy equipment mechanic or similar role (construction, mulch / compost, forestry, or landfill equipment preferred).
