Medical Assistant

The medical assistant will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. The role supports clinicians and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating patient populations. The medical assistant is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.

Responsibilities :

  • Perform quality team-based patient care under clinician supervision.
  • Support clinicians and care management teams in examining and treating patients.
  • Maintain chronic disease management.
  • Conduct laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.

Essential Skills :

  • Medical assisting
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Ability to take manual vitals
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Active BLS certification
  • Active driver's license
  • 2 years' experience in a clinic or back-office healthcare setting
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications :

  • HS diploma required
  • MA diploma OR Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR 3 years' MA experience
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred
  • Experience with TriMed EMR preferred
  • Knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements
  • Knowledge of universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices
  • Ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public
  • Ability to assess emergencies and act accordingly
  • Flexibility to float from one location to another as patient queue demands
  • Work Environment :

    The position is 100% onsite in a clinic located in Wellington, FL. The shifts are organized into a two-week rotation.

    Week 1 : Mondays 7 : 45 am - 5 : 00 pm, Tuesdays 1 : 30 pm - 5 : 00 pm, Wednesdays 7 : 45 am - 5 : 00 pm, Thursdays 1 : 30 pm - 5 : 00 pm, Fridays 7 : 45 am - 5 : 00 pm. Week 2 : Mondays 7 : 45 am - 5 : 00 pm, Tuesdays 7 : 45 am - 5 : 00 pm, Wednesdays 1 : 30 pm - 5 : 00 pm, Thursdays 1 : 30 pm - 5 : 00 pm, Fridays 7 : 45 am - 5 : 00 pm, and Saturdays 7 : 45 am - 5 : 00 pm. Permanent opportunity with travel compensation and training available.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Wellington, Florida.

    Pay and Benefits :

    The pay range for this position is $21889.14 - $30913.61 / yr.
