Clinical Role & Responsibilities
Primary mid-level provider for newborns under pediatric supervision
Neonatal care duties include :
Assess, plan, evaluate care for neonates
Attend high-risk deliveries, perform resuscitation, stabilize newborns
Write orders : meds, IV therapy, TPN, blood products, admissions, discharges
Order / interpret lab tests and x-rays
Manage newborn transport between facilities (independently)
Provide stabilization and resuscitation at deliveries
Consultant to medical, nursing, administrative staff
Lead neonatal nursing education & competency assessments
Participate in quality improvement and policy development (NICU, L&D, Mother / Baby Unit)
Submit billing in a timely manner
Support and uphold workplace safety, confidentiality, and the mission / vision of Trinity Health
Qualifications
Education : Graduation from an accredited Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program
Experience : Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
Certifications : Must meet all standard hospital and state NP requirements
Licensure : Must be eligible for Michigan NP license Compensation & Benefits
