Overview
Employee Relations Consultant at KeyBank National Association is located in Brooklyn, OH , United States. This position requires a Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience. The job is in a call center environment and reports to the ER Solutions Team Manager in a virtual setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide HR consultation and support on employee relations issues surrounding policy, procedure, and programs via the phone in a call center environment.
- Offer Employee Relations guidance to all levels of management, interpreting and applying policy to support business objectives and employee engagement while evaluating risk and compliance.
- Facilitate moderately complex employee relations issues, providing consultation, support, and recommendations to managers and employees.
- Document issues thoroughly, timely, and accurately. Respond to, research, facilitate resolution, and escalate as necessary.
- Review employment documents (e.g., Performance Improvement Plans, termination documents, and manager-to-employee correspondence) and provide feedback.
- Identify employee relations issues or trends by line of business and geography; escalate those posing risk to KeyBank.
- Provide guidance on employment-related questions and assist in documenting facilitated employment actions related to Leaves of Absence (e.g., FMLA), including determinations about holding / replacing positions during leaves and addressing unauthorized leaves.
- Perform other duties as assigned; comply with KeyBank policies and procedures, act professionally, avoid conflicts of interest, and act in the best interests of clients and the bank.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree or BS / BA in related field or equivalent experience (Business Administration, Human Resources, Communications, Psychology, Sociology) preferred.High School Diploma with equivalent experience and demonstrated knowledge of employment law and regulations (required).Experience
3+ years of Human Resources experience with Employee Relations consultation preferred (required).Proven ability to analyze problems and mitigate risk while supporting business initiatives (required).Demonstrated knowledge of HR practices and legal principles (required).Tactical / Personal / Practical Skills

Physical Demands & Travel

Compensation & Benefits
This position is eligible for base salary $60,000 to $70,000 annually, with eligibility for short-term and deferred incentive compensation based on performance. See the benefits list linked in the posting.
