Bio-Studies is a growing natural resources consulting firm in Southern California providing quality natural resources consulting services to a diversity of clientele.
Our team of biologists offer natural resource management services, including wildlife and botanical surveys, construction monitoring, desktop analysis, GIS mapping, regulatory expertise, project management, and regulatory permitting. Available Positions : We are seeking botany and wildlife biologists with varying levels of experience to support natural resource and construction projects. We are currently hiring for :
Is this role for you?
Duties may include botanical, wildlife, or wetland field surveys and construction monitoring in a variety of terrains and weather conditions. Familiarity with an of data collection techniques, including ESRI software applications, is preferred. Facility with data entry and report writing will be required. Biologists will work independently but be supported by the Bio-Studies Project Managers and Senior Staff. Correspondence and coordination with clients, other Bio-Studies employees and construction contacts will be required.
Resilient and motivated candidates will note that the role at times requires extended work hours, long field days, often requiring remote travel, and overnight stays up to 2 weeks may be required depending on the project. All biologists will direct report to Senior Staff, but are required to independently monitor reporting responsibilities, record their timesheets, submit timely expense reports, and provide daily field reports. Staff will be provided with mentorship in their role but are expected to be initiative-taking to develop their skill set in terms of technical writing and field survey techniques. Bio-Studies can provide a flexible work environment; work schedules may fluctuate based on project construction or seasonal timelines.

Qualifications :
Working Conditions : Project work occurs in diverse outdoor environments and can include hiking over rugged terrain and long distances, inclement weather, and driving into remote areas, on and off road. Most projects require long distance travel in a variety of field conditions for multiple weeks at a time and hotel lodging is offered. Safety risks that may be encountered on the job include dangerous wildlife (e.g., ticks, bees, rattlesnakes, scorpions, mountain lions), wary or hostile public, challenging driving conditions, construction site hazards, and extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind). Bio-Studies provides a Company Safety Plan as well as required safety trainings.
Compensation : Project Biologist - $25 - $35 per hour depending on need, skills, and experience.
