Overview
Under the direction of the Director, DSA Communications, the Digital Media Specialist is responsible for multimedia production and social media engagement strategies to advance the objectives of the Student Affairs. The incumbent ensures the creation of impact-driven content that resonates with diverse audiences and fosters community connection. This position is responsible for cultivating a student assistant team of photographers, videographers, and social media content creators. The incumbent will stay updated on media trends in the higher education landscape and bring new and innovative ideas to CSULB. By upholding accessibility standards, supervising student assistants, and facilitating cross-departmental partnerships, the specialist contributes to the enhancement of communication efforts and the promotion of equity and inclusivity across campus. Furthermore, the incumbent provides services that are equitable, inclusive and provide culturally sensitive services that enhance the quality of campus life. This position uses a student centered and equity minded approach in all communication and service efforts.

Compensation & Classification
CSU Classification Salary Range : The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4,146 - $7,500 per month. Time Base : 1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week. CSUEU : Effective 10 / 1 / 2025, a new salary step structure and job classifications will be implemented under the CSU-CSUEU Agreement. Job duties will remain unchanged; however, this position may be assigned to a new classification with an updated salary range. Employees will be notified of any changes. Duration of Appointment
This is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
