The Physician Billing Specialist provides a vital role in the revenue cycle. This position is repsonsible for processing claims daily, working Gaffey error reports, and reviewing and editing uploaded claims as necessary to ensure a clean and timely claim. Identifies and bills secondary or tertiary insurances. Review patient's accounts for pending insurance payments, taking necessary action to have the claim processed. Corrects and updates account demographics as needed. Researches and appeals denied claims. Review accounts with insurance Credits for refund and / or corrections that need to be made. Assists patients with accounts.

Required :

High School Diploma or Equivalent. Three or more years experience in a medical office setting with some public contact involving problem solving and billing. Prefer more than three years experience in a medical office setting, certification of patient accounting or billing, and / or related experience.
