Responsibilities Position is in the Emergency Department of a Level II Trauma Center Patient population includes pediatrics through geriatrics with high-acuity emergency cases such as trauma, GSW, sepsis, STEMI, stroke, DKA, and mental health emergencies Average daily census is 140-150 patients, with 60 beds including inpatient holding, psych rooms, and hall spaces Patient ratios are typically 1 : 4, flexing to 1 : 5 for low-acuity patients 12-hour day shifts, with possible shift variations (0700-1900, 0900-2100); schedule may include mid and night shifts for 6-week blocks Weekend rotation required every other weekend No floating required No on-call requirements Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing system Central and bedside telemetry monitoring at the nursing station Free parking provided in designated areas Care for high-acuity emergency patients across all age groups, including trauma and psychiatric emergencies 24 / 7 support from ER techs, charge nurse, resource / float nurse, respiratory therapy, ED educator, security, house supervisor, and pharmacy Professional attire required; any solid scrub color allowed, with modest piercings and non-offensive tattoos permitted Holiday coverage required for three of five major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) Initial orientation day includes badging and EPIC training as needed, followed by 3–4 precepted 12-hour shifts Up to 5 days of approved time off; cannot guarantee block scheduling but efforts are made to be staff-friendly Team-oriented, traveler-friendly environment with many extending their contracts First-time travelers will not be considered for this position Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required Minimum 1 year of strong ED experience required Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI / MOAB Successful completion of Traveler Telemetry Competency Exam required prior to start Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms, start IVs, administer emergency medications including drips, perform procedural sedation, and blood administration Experience with Epic charting system preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-618574.
