Advisory Associate, Valuation & Capital Market Analysis, Complex Financial Instruments - Fall 2026 (Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco)
Overview
The Valuation & Capital Market Analysis Associate – Complex Financial Instruments is responsible for utilizing educational background and organizational skills to service clients of the Valuation & Capital Market Analysis group. The Associate works in a team environment to assist in the analysis and resolution of client matters, taking direction from experienced staff and management. The Associate is involved in all stages of client management including construction of valuation modeling, completion of industry and client research, and analysis of financial statements.
Responsibilities
- Assists with the delivery of projects related to the valuation of illiquid and complex securities, hard-to-value assets, financial derivatives (including over-the-counter derivatives), and structured products.
- Constructs financial models used in the valuation of complex financial instruments for financial reporting, tax and regulatory compliance, transaction support, and corporate strategy.
- Uses mathematical and statistical financial models for valuations of multiple asset classes including complex securities, options, derivatives, and credit instruments, including Monte Carlo simulations and lattice models.
- May aid in the delivery of services related to hedge advisory, strategic assessment, model validation, economic studies, and other advisory projects.
- Prepares exhibits and memos illustrating complex issues; composes narrative reports in support of valuation analyses.
- Documents and maintains all applicable aspects of work product and ensures quality controls.
- Participates in internal and external client meetings; performs related company, industry, and economic research.
- Assists and provides guidance to peers and staff in developing project plans and timelines for deliverables.

Prior experience (internship or work study) in valuation, corporate finance or accounting environment, preferredSoftware
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word, requiredFamiliarity with VBA, Python, R, or other programming language, preferredPrior experience with Capital IQ, FactSet, SNL, or Bloomberg, preferredOther Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
