American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for 12-hour night shifts at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring WA or compact RN licensure and advanced certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 60-bed Emergency Department at a Level II Trauma CenterHandles a patient population from pediatrics to geriatrics, including trauma, GSW, sepsis, STEMI, stroke, DKA, COVID, mental health, and high acuity casesAverage daily census of 140-150 patientsNurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1 : 4, flexing to 1 : 5 for low acuityUses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and central and bedside telemetry monitoringNo floating required12-hour night shifts with an every-other-weekend rotationHoliday coverage requires working 3 of 5 major holidaysNo on-call responsibilitiesOrientation includes NEO, Epic training if needed, and 3-4 shifts with a preceptorProvide care for a broad range of emergency and trauma cases across all agesWork in a fast-paced, team-oriented, traveler-friendly environment with support from ER techs, charge nurses, float / resource nurses, 24 / 7 RT, pharmacy, educator, and securityAll scrub colors allowed, but attire must be professional; modest piercings and non-offensive tattoos are permittedFree parking is available in designated areasUp to 5 days of time off can be approved\n \n Requirements\n
Active WA or compact RN license is requiredMinimum one year of strong Emergency Department nursing experienceCurrent BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and CPI / MOAB certifications requiredTraveler Telemetry Competency Exam must be completed and passed prior to startSkills required include cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, blood and medication administration, procedural sedation, and use of telemetryEpic charting system experience preferredFirst-time travelers are not eligible for this assignment\n Benefits\n
