CSPs play a vital role in helping participants achieve personal goals related to : Independence
You’ll implement individualized plans, facilitate skill-building activities, and ensure health and safety while supporting participants in leading their own schedules and experiences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct Support & Personal Care
Assist with activities of daily living, including hygiene, dressing, eating, toileting, and mobility
Provide mobility assistance, including support with ambulation using gait belts, wheelchair use, and safe transitions in and out of seating
Provide personal care in accordance with individual support plans, including hygiene, mobility support, lifting, turning, and use of Hoyer lift and changing table, with two person assistance as required.
Assist with medication administration following approved protocols
Respond to behavioral challenges using person-centered strategies, with approved physical intervention techniques applied only when necessary to protect the safety of the participant or others
Exercise sound judgment and initiative in dynamic situations, including making timely decisions to support participant safety and program integrity
Model respectful, professional behavior in all interactions, encouraging a kind and inclusive environment for participants, families, and staff
Support a culture of accountability by encouraging staff adherence to FCCS policies, procedures, and standards of care
Skill Development & Coaching
Support life skills such as cooking, budgeting, personal care, and household chores
Facilitate self-advocacy training to help participants express needs, make decisions, and advocate for their rights
These requirements are considered essential to the role and may be subject to undue hardship if accommodation is not feasible :
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds or more
Regular walking, bending, standing, and physical activity throughout the workday
Ability to assist with transfers and mobility support, including ambulation with gait belts and wheelchair assistance
Ability to perform physical tasks, including participant transfers, lifting and turning, use of adaptive equipment (e.g., Hoyer lift, changing table), and provide mobility support with two-person assistance when necessary.
Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to behavioral or medical emergencies, including use of approved physical intervention techniques when necessary to ensure safety
Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and transport participants
Ability to use a computer and other program equipment consistently
Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment
Ability to perform all essential functions without risk to self or others
