Nexus-PATH has an opportunity to hire a full-time School Based Therapist who will serve the Fargo, ND Nexus-PATH office!
Position Summary : Work with the local school district in order to provide overall management of youth’s treatment through active engagement, clinical assessment, treatment, and discharge planning. Therapist will provide clinical insight and work from a trauma informed lens to enhance the milieu and programming. Engage with families through family therapy and treatment planning. Collaborate with the community and providers related to the youth’s progress and discharge planning.

Primary responsibilities :
In coordination with the team, creates and drives a trauma-informed environment, establishing and maintaining a positive treatment culture, and making necessary changes to ensure successCollaboration with youth and family to lead and develop to the Nexus Individual and Family Guidance Plans; ensuring staff understand and utilize them in adherence to policyEngage in and have active involvement of the Family Collaborative Intake meetingsComplete Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths functional assessment in accordance to the TCOM (collaborative) principalsThrough the collaborative effort with family, youth, and providers, develop and monitor the individual treatment plansProvide individualized, youth-focused, strength and evidenced-based family and individual therapy models to youth and families. Examples : Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.Attendance and participation in mandatory clinical supervision and team case consultation meetings in accordance with program expectationsDevelop and facilitate milieu and treatment groups that are trauma informed, educational, and treatment focusedParticipate in all youth related treatment team meetings, using family centered language and youth driven principalsServe as a clinical treatment team leader to students. This includes but is not limited to modeling and coaching staff on rapport building with clients, trauma-informed practices, and de-escalation techniques on the treatment milieu as neededBe available on-call for consultation / treatment direction and / or decisions when appropriateAssess readiness for discharge in conjunction with the treatment team. Coordinate and recommend therapeutic services for success after dischargeCoordinate / communicate aftercare needs of the client with family and all necessary social service and community providers to ensure a smooth transitionCommunicate with the treatment team to include all desired and necessary family members, educational, legal, community, and social service providers (as well as all-natural supports that the youth and family identify) to gather all necessary information to inform and support the treatment processEnsures that all required client reports, records, and all documentation are produced accurately and maintained in a consistent, timely, and professional manner according to policy and regulated statutesEducate and facilitate trainings for staff on trauma informed practices, clinical diagnosis treatment processes, and other clinically relevant training materialParticipate in team meetings, program clinical team meetings, therapy clinical supervision sessions, and in-service as requiredEnsure confidentiality regarding mental health, medical issues, background treatment and comply with all HIPAA related requirementsRemains current on all company policies, assigned trainings and / or certification requirementsAll other tasks and duties as assignedRecognize and value cultural differences in all aspects of work and service deliveryRequired Education and Licensure :
Master’s degree in one of the behavioral sciences, human services, social work, marriage & family therapy, psychology, counseling, or clinically related fieldsFully licensed in appropriate state as an LMSW, LPCC, LPC, or LCSWValid driver’s license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Nexus Home Office driving requirementsMust have the ability to build strong relationships with diverse individuals or communities and understand their unique needs and challenges.Must be open to meeting the cultural needs of individuals or communities, considering factors such as language, traditions, and values.Preferred Education and Experience :
Related experience working within the school systemExpected Hours of Work :
Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with the expectation to work specific schedules and hours as identified and communicated by management. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
