Structural Engineer - Federal & Commercial Projects

Location : Plymouth, MN | Full-Time | Salary Negotiable

We are partnering with a Disabled American Veteran-owned , full-service engineering firm seeking a Structural Engineer to join their team in Plymouth, Minnesota. This firm provides multi-disciplinary services-including Civil, Structural, MEP, Survey, Environmental, Architectural, and Landscape Architecture-to a broad client base, with a primary focus on federal government contracts and national-scale commercial development projects.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Construction Documents : Lead the development of structural drawings, specs, and construction documents that meet applicable codes and engineering standards
  • Project Management : Oversee project execution, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget are maintained
  • Cross-Disciplinary Coordination : Collaborate with internal design disciplines and external consultants
  • Client Interaction : Participate in client meetings and support proposal development
  • Technical Oversight : Provide engineering guidance, peer review, and mentorship across project teams
  • Business Development : Support pursuit efforts by offering input on proposals and presenting creative, value-engineering solutions
  • Leadership Opportunity : Take ownership of project delivery and be poised to grow into a lead role within the structural group
  • Qualifications :

  • Education : Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural
  • Licensure : PE required in MN or ND; California PE preferred; other states are a plus
  • Experience :
  • Strong foundation in structural design and analysis across various project types

  • Experience with seismic design, blast mitigation, and retrofit projects is highly desired
  • Proven ability to lead projects independently through all phases
  • Software Proficiency :
  • RISA

  • Revit
  • Bluebeam
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Additional structural analysis software experience is welcomed
