Supply Chain Senior Launch Manager
Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking a Supply Chain Senior Launch Manager to join our TECA and Sports Supply Chain team.
Reporting to the Director, New Product Introductions (NPI), the Sr. Launch Manager will lead a team of launch management leads to establish contemporary, best-in-class manufacturing and supply chain processes and techniques on a global scale for new products. This leader is expected to bring to bear their experience of project management, enterprise-wide supply chains, and knowledge of manufacturing operations to orchestrate a development team committed to an outstanding supply chain. This critical role will support key, strategic NPI project launches and will deliver on quality, service, and project execution metrics (on time, on cost).
The Sr. Launch Manager will coach and mentor a team of NPI launch managers, helping their team navigate through standardized processes and driving self-accountability in each function. They will craft and develop optimized supply chain strategies for sophisticated NPI programs. They will drive excellence in execution in all phases of the NPI development process - from project inception until stabilization is achieved in base business.
This not only includes traditional Technical Operations responsibilities such as RFQ / site selection, technology transfer, and process validation but also accountability and ownership for all supply chain launch tasks owned by other supply chain functions (e.g., customer service post-launch, achievement of vertical learning curve for capacity, CoGS, service metrics, deliver excellence, etc.), as this role serves as a main leader from supply chain facing Commercial and Research and Development.
This leader will ensure continuity of supply by leading and participating in regular planning process leadership meetings (e.g., Capacity planning, IBP, STEM, IMT), which will support the multi-year NPI programs within their responsibility.
This leader will require a keen ability to influence and support their direct reports and cross-functional business partners within R&D, Design Quality Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Sourcing, Plan, Value Stream Management, Operations, Packaging / Labeling, and Environmental / Safety to drive the development and implementation of Business Continuity Plans to mitigate against manufacturing and / or Supplier launch delays and long term product supply disruption risks.
It is valuable that this leader understands demand planning and works with internal and external teams to develop capacity plans for scale up including requirements for capital and validation expenses.
