Deputy District Clerk I - Part-Time
Collin County is seeking candidates for the position of Deputy District Clerk I - Part-Time. This position manages case files and records by indexing and filing various cases and civil suits, utilizing general knowledge of state statutes, preparing, disposing, and reporting information to the courts, transferring, appealing and sealing juvenile cases, and locating cases and making certified copies. Related duties include providing clerical support by maintaining files, inputting case data, answering questions, assisting the public, preparing statistical reports, operating and maintaining the microfilm machine, canceling warrants, and receiving and returning subpoenas. May assist in other areas as needed. Work is performed under the direction of the District Clerk.
Candidates must have the knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. A level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school is required. Candidates must have sufficient skill to pass a typing test at the rate of 35 words per minute. Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Operator's Driver's License with an acceptable driving record. No experience required.
Please note that this is a part-time position, working an average of 20 hours per week.
Testing Requirements
Typing tests are administered in the Human Resources Testing room from 8 : 30am - 4 : 30pm, Monday through Friday. You do not need an appointment to test, but you will need to bring a government issued photo ID. If you have any questions regarding the testing, please feel free to call 972-548-4606.
