Casual NP / PA - Epic Inbasket Support
The Advanced Practice Practitioner (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) – Epic Inbasket Specialist is responsible for optimizing and managing clinical communication within the Epic Inbasket. The APP will serve as a clinical and system specialist to bridge the gap between frontline providers, clinical support staff, and IT / analyst teams to enhance patient access, provider efficiency, and care quality.
Inbasket Management & Clinical Triage
- Review, prioritize , and add ress Inbasket messages including patient advice requests, lab results, medication refills, and care coordination tasks.
- Provide clinical decision-making within scope of practice, escalating to physicians as appropriate.
- Develop, monitor, and refine standardized workflows for Inbasket management to ensure timely response to patient needs.
Clinical Practice Support
Perform virtual and in-person patient care activities related to message-based encounters, including but not limited to, reviewing lab results, managing chronic conditions, e-visits, ordering medications, and arranging follow-up care.Document all patient care interactions in Epic following organizational standards.Workflow Optimization & Training
Collaborate with Epic analysts, IT, and clinical leadership to design and implement best practices for Inbasket use.Monitor performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and recommend system or process improvements.Quality & Safety Oversight
Ensure patient messages and clinical tasks are addressed in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.Participate in quality improvement initiatives to reduce message backlog, optimize provider time, and improve patient satisfaction.Collaborate with providers, nursing, IT, and operations leaders to align Inbasket practices with organizational goals.PI59973c891198-30511-38667876
