Director of Music Ministries

The Director of Music Ministries is a part-time position, primarily responsible for leading and overseeing the volunteer singers and musicians in the various music ministries of the Church.

Overview

The following essential duties describe the scope of the role and the expectations for successful performance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and develop a comprehensive music ministry, which is doctrinally sound and spiritually uplifting and is in concert with the vision of the Church.
• Communicate effectively with the Pastor and singers / musicians to organize plans for practices and worship services.
• Provide music at Sunday morning services as well as seasonal worship services such as evening Lenten and Advent services involving the entire congregation.
• Direct Chancel and Sunrise choirs.
• Support contemporary music service.
• Coordinate music selection and other activities with Accompanist.
• Manage all musical groups within the Church. Recruit and train volunteer leaders for these activities when needed and provide assistance in obtaining music and coordinating / scheduling activities within the overall life of the Church.
• Manage the use and maintenance of all Church pianos.
• Meet regularly with the Pastor for staff meetings, as well as attend all Administrative Council Meetings.
• Manage music ministry budget.
• Serve as the direct supervisor of any musical accompanists.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor and / or the SPR committee.
