About The Position

Job Title : Pediatric Registered Nurse

Profession : Registered Nurse

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 12 Hour Nights

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum 2 years of Pediatric experience

License : Active RN license in ND or compact state

Certifications :

Active BLS certification (must be AHA)

Active PALS certification (must be AHA)

Must-Have :

Minimum 1 year of Pediatric experience on a general floor or higher level of care

Ability to care for adult overflow on occasion

Willingness to float to NICU as needed

Description :

Taking care of patients aged 0-18 years.

Rare adult overflow may occur.

The unit admits all diagnoses including medical, orthopedic, surgical, oncology, behavioral health, and rehabilitation patients.

Procedures may include spinal taps, bone marrows, incision and drainage of wounds, complex dressing changes, wound care, transfusions, IVs, and NG placements.

Assist physicians with other procedures as necessary.

Utilize Epic charting and scanning medication systems.

Must be able to float to NICU and Pediatric departments as needed.

Nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 3-4 on days and evenings, and 4-5 on nights based on acuity.

Dress code includes navy blue scrubs, with child-friendly scrub tops permitted, and gray-white or navy T-shirts under scrubs.

The unit consists of 24 beds, but may increase with overflow.

Cancellation policy allows for cancellations up to 12 hours every 13 weeks.

No call required unless being reduced for the day.

Will not work alone.
