American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 1 Trauma Adult ICU position with night shifts and advanced certification requirements.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in Adult ICU Pods within a hospital acute care settingUnit consists of MICU, SICU, and TICU with a total of 120 bedsPatient population includes trauma, surgical, and medical critical care cases such as sepsis, organ transplants, DKA, trauma, and overdosesPerform and manage bedside procedures including bronchs, trachs, and hemodialysis catheter placementsRNs are required to read and interpret their own telemetry stripsUse of ventilators including Cervo I, Jets, and Oscillators, as well as CPAP / BiPAPEMR system is Cerner12-hour night shifts (7p-7a) with self-schedulingRequired to work a minimum of 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeksWork two out of four major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s)Floating required among all ICU areas, MedSurg / Tele units, and to St. Joseph Westgate campusIntensivist and respiratory therapy support available 24 / 7Team-based environment with robust training : two shift floor orientation and day 1 skills assessmentStrong emphasis on maintaining sterile technique; failure to pass SIMs Lab results in disqualificationNavy scrubs are requiredHoliday and weekend coverage assigned in core staffing rotationFirst day includes pass / fail testing on essential ICU skills; two attempts allowedMen must be clean-shaven for fit testing; natural hair color and no facial piercings requiredTravel teams must supply their own transportation\n \n Requirements\n
Active AZ or compact RN license in hand at time of applicationMinimum 2 years of recent ICU experience requiredPrior experience in a 600+ bed teaching facility is requiredCurrent ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications requiredDemonstrated Level 1 Trauma ICU experience requiredAbility to titrate and manage critical dripsDocumentation required : current driver’s licensePass dysrhythmia (Relias) exam and skills validation on day 1 of orientationSuccessful completion of day 1 SIMs Lab for sterile techniques (Foley insertion and central line dressing changes)Two professional references : one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years, including employment dates and eligibility for rehireMust reside at least 50 miles from the facility; driver’s license used for address verificationCandidates cannot have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year\n Benefits\n
