BD is seeking a Product Development Technician (Tech 2) to join our team in Brea, CA. In this role, you will contribute to the execution of routine technical tasks in a product development lab setting. You'll work closely with engineers, project leaders, and team members to support research and development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, format, and analyze technical data from laboratory and material tests.
  • Assist with engineering documentation, including reports, flow charts, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Support lab operations : calibration, routine equipment maintenance, and safety compliance.
  • Execute and document test protocols and report results.
  • Provide technical support to engineering teams and assist in prototype development.
  • Handle chemicals and wear required PPE in compliance with lab safety standards.
  • Support basic hardware debugging and troubleshooting.

Must-Have Qualifications

Work experience in a physical or mechanical testing environment , or formal education in physical / biological sciences

Hands-on experience in a laboratory setting , including chemical handling and PPE use.

Familiarity with research / engineering documents , such as test protocols, drawings, or equipment manuals.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in a technical or engineering discipline with 1–2 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong PC / computer proficiency (data handling, documentation tools).
  • Ability to perform routine test procedures accurately.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a cross-functional setting.
  • Ability to train and support junior technicians.

    • Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 2–4 years of relevant experience in an R&D or technical environment.
  • Ability to contribute to technical problem-solving under general supervision.
