Key Responsibilities
Oversee electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation installations by internal teams and subcontractorsReview client design drawings, schedules, and documents for pricing and compliance purposesPrepare electrical design drawings, calculations, schedules, and documentation for MCCs, cable networks, and containment systemsDevelop Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and Control Philosophies specific to water projectsAssess client DNO supply characteristics, site earthing design, and lightning protection needsPrepare electrical design and enquiry packages for subcontractor tendersReview supplier and subcontractor designs to ensure compliance with client specificationsSupport Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), site inspections, certification processes, and commissioning activitiesWork collaboratively with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and contractors to deliver safe, compliant, and high-quality outcomesIdentify opportunities for business improvements and contribute to team meetings and initiativesWhat They're Looking For
Degree, HND, HNC, or equivalent qualification in engineering, science, or related fieldAt least three years' postgraduate experience in utilities or M&E engineering, ideally within the water industryStrong background in industrial / commercial electrical and ICA design, installation, testing, and commissioningExperience with MCC / Electrical Panel design, calculations, and supporting documentationKnowledge of Low Voltage (LV) and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems, including I / O, relay logic, instrumentation, and conditioningAdvantageous experience as an NIC-EIC Competent PersonStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and colleaguesFull driving licence with willingness to travel across the UK and Ireland, including overnight staysPackage
