American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring a MO or compact license, EKG exam proficiency, and every other weekend availability.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the Neuro ICU of a Magnet-designated, Level I trauma, teaching hospitalCare for patients with neurological diagnoses such as ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, neuromuscular disorders, seizures, CNS infections, neurotrauma, and patients requiring ICP monitoringNurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 2 in the Neuro ICUManage specialized procedures including vasoactive medications, central / arterial lines, ICP monitoring, CRRT, and temperature managementRequired to float within service line or to affiliate units within scopeEvery other weekend shift requiredDay shifts (3x12 hours, 7 : 00 – 19 : 30)EPIC charting experience requiredUses specialized equipment including EVD and bolts for ICP monitoringResponsibilities include managing complex neurological patients, administering vasoactive drugs, and monitoring ICP devicesFirst-time travelers are accepted for this assignmentMaximum of 7 days RTO allowed per 13-week contract; no RTO allowed during the first week of orientationAll standard travelers may stay up to 18 months and must take a 3-month break after 18 monthsNavy blue scrubs are requiredOrientation includes completion of required modules and up to 10 hours of stroke educationFit testing required; facial hair must allow proper mask sealParking passes are available for a fee; night shift parking at no charge in designated lots\n \n Requirements\n
Active MO or compact RN license required (pending license accepted at submission)Minimum of 2 years recent Neuro ICU RN experience requiredCertifications required : ACLS, BLS (BCLS), NIHSSMust pass Relias EKG exam covering interpretation and management of dysrhythmiasPreferred qualifications include TNCC, BSN, and 10 hours of stroke education (can be partially completed during orientation)EPIC EMR experience requiredMust live outside a 75 mile radius from the facility; local candidates not acceptedNo previous permanent employment at BJC facilities in the past 12 months\n Benefits\n
