Position Summary
The Low Voltage Outside Sales Specialist is responsible for developing and closing new business opportunities in the commercial and multifamily markets . This role focuses on selling access control, video surveillance, intrusion alarm, and audio / visual systems , with an emphasis on building strong client relationships through in-person engagement and site visits. The ideal candidate has a proven background in outside sales, strong technical understanding of low-voltage systems, and the drive to identify and secure new projects from concept through completion.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Engagement
- Identify, pursue, and close new sales opportunities in assigned territories.
- Develop long-term relationships with property managers, developers, general contractors, and building owners.
- Attend on-site meetings, walk-throughs, and pre-construction conferences to evaluate project needs and propose tailored solutions.
- Represent the company at trade shows, networking events, and industry functions to build brand awareness and generate leads.
Sales & Project Coordination
Conduct detailed site assessments to determine system requirements and design recommendations.Prepare and deliver accurate proposals, bids, and pricing packages.Collaborate closely with internal design, estimating, and installation teams to ensure proper scope alignment and customer satisfaction.Track all opportunities, quotes, and client interactions within the company CRM.Provide post-installation follow-up to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities for additional services.Product & Market Expertise
Maintain deep knowledge of access control, CCTV / video monitoring, intrusion detection, and A / V systems.Stay current on market trends, competitor offerings, and new technologies.Partner with manufacturers and distributors to stay informed on product updates, training, and promotions.Qualifications
3–5 years of outside sales experience in low voltage, security integration, or related technology industries.Demonstrated success in prospecting, presenting, and closing sales in commercial or multifamily environments.Strong understanding of low-voltage systems design and applications.Ability to read blueprints and construction documents.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.).Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.Preferred Experience
Familiarity with systems such as Brivo, Avigilon, LiftMaster or comparable brands.Established network of contacts within the commercial construction or property management industries.Compensation & Benefits
