Job Overview
A well-established food manufacturing company in Fort Atkinson, WI is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for a full-time, 1st shift position. This leadership role is ideal for a hands-on professional with a strong background in food manufacturing maintenance , mechanical systems, and team supervision. The right candidate will bring initiative, critical thinking, and a proactive approach to process improvement and equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and schedule maintenance mechanics and technicians
- Oversee daily maintenance operations with a focus on equipment reliability and uptime
- Enforce and maintain safety protocols and regulatory compliance
- Support equipment installation, upgrades, and layout planning
- Lead efforts to maintain and enhance facility infrastructure and utilities
- Ensure compliance with sanitary design principles and food safety requirements
- Assist in managing the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Contribute to Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and serve as an active HAZMAT team member
- Complete assigned special projects on time and within scope
- Work extended hours and weekends as needed to meet production and maintenance demands
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field OR minimum 5 years of maintenance leadership experienceProven experience in food manufacturing environmentsStrong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to manage priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)Understanding of safety protocols and regulatory standardsPreferred Qualifications
Experience with CMMS systems and preventative maintenance programsFamiliarity with Process Safety Management (PSM)Supervisory experience in union and non-union settingsPhysical Requirements
