Under general supervision, officers patrol city streets, enforce local, state, and federal laws, maintain law and order, and protect life and property while deterring crime. Candidates for this recruitment must hold a prior police certification that the Maryland Police Training Commission accepts. The starting salary for this position is $65,090.77 - $87,476.56 annually, depending on experience. This position offers a competitive Hiring Bonus of $10,000. This will be paid out in 4 installments. $2,500 at the time of hire, $2,500 at the end of the first year of employment, $2,500 at the end of the second year and $2,500 at the end of the third of employment.

Typical Duties Include :

• Patrolling assigned area to include all public and private businesses, residences, parking areas, and streets.
• Directing vehicular traffic; enforcingtraffic laws; directing pedestrian traffic.
• Enforcingall applicable City, local, state, and federal laws.
• Investigatingcrimes; securingand protecting the scene of a crime and the immediate area surrounding the crime scene so that no evidence is disturbed.
• Makingarrests of persons observed or suspected of committing crimes.
