Shipping & Receiving

Prepares and packages components for shipment. Verifies and keeps records for all outgoing shipments. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned :

• Daily communication with company driver, shipping schedule and Materials Manager to assure delivery schedules are met to customers' requests
• Proper packaging procedures are required to be met to guarantee products will not be damaged during the shipping process
• Review and understand shipping techniques, packaging, labeling / marking and shipping requirements per customer purchase orders and specifications as applicable
• Create packing lists per company ERP system with accuracy to Job, PO Number and PO Line. Additional details on pack lists may be required per product or customer
• Controls and organizes the flow of items throughout the shipping department by priority and schedule per Job
• Understand and utilize shipping programs for method of shipment, IE : FedEx, UPS, etc.
• Maintain accurate weight measurements of each shipment to guarantee proper costing is incurred
• Building wooden crates or cardboard containers are standard practices in this role
• Tube and label customer product
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
• Controls count, accuracy and allocates finished goods to inventory
• Operates fort truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping to other storage or work area
• Assisting with some part assembly

Education and / or Experience :

Language Skills :

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills :

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Reasoning Ability :

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
