Class A Backhaul Driver

Schedule :

  • Monday - Friday
  • Starting 1AM 5AM

Pay on this position is starting at $27.81 for training and then switches to a component pay averaging $32 per hour.

Main Ingredients of the Job :

  • Safely drive truck to vendors and company drop-off sites
  • Verify freight on truck, required trailer temperatures and accuracy of freight with vendors
  • Return tractor and trailer to division when route is completed
  • Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required
  • Must be able to perform coupling procedures for the Tractor / Trailer
  • What You Bring to the Table :

  • Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
  • Minimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months commercial driving experience in the food and / or beverage delivery industry required
  • Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
  • Willingness to travel 2-3 times per week required
  • Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records.

    Compensation depends on relevant experience and / or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role $27.81 per hour during training and then switches to component pay.
