This position supports the human resources functions with responsibilities spanning employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, compliance, and more. The HR Generalist serves as a point of contact for employees and management, offering guidance and support to ensure the organization's HR policies and practices are followed consistently and effectively. Individuals will work with the Human Resources Managers, business management teams and other team members to maximize the efficiency of the department in support of the organizational goals and standards.
Key responsibilities include :
- Acting as a resource for employees, addressing questions and concerns related to HR policies, procedures, and employment issues.
- Mediating and resolving conflicts between employees, fostering a positive work environment.
- Leading employee relations investigations.
- Reviewing, tracking, and documenting compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
- Facilitating orientation for new hires who are onboarding at the area level.
- Processing all life-cycle change forms and paperwork for area employees.
- Assisting in performance appraisal processes, guiding managers and employees on goal-setting, feedback, and development plans.
- Monitoring and tracking employee performance evaluations, ensuring consistency and fairness.
- Attending and participating in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Implementing employee recognition programs.
- Educating employees about available benefits and supporting them with inquiries and enrollment.
- Maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviewing policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintaining knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to HR activities.
- Processing verifications of employment as needed.
- Collaborating with managers to identify training needs and partnering with L&D team to initiate training for employees.
- Contributing and planning initiatives that enhance employee engagement and company culture.
- Providing translation assistance, as needed.
- Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications :
Education / Experience :
Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).3-5 years related experience within the human resources function.Experience in a construction environment preferred but not required.Bilingual in English and Spanish languages is required.HR certification a plus.Work Requirements :
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Must be 18 years in age or older.Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.Must possess a valid driver's license.Able to safely drive a vehicle.Travel up to 25% of the time.Regular required attendance and reporting ready to begin work at the designated start time.Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as per company policy.Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and / or MSHA.Compliance with all OSHA and / or MSHA regulations.Knowledge / Skill Requirements :
Bilingual in English and Spanish languages is required.Strong understanding of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.Detail-oriented and well-organized.Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work with Management.Ability to work independently.Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.High standard of ethics, integrity, and trust.Physical Requirements :
May occasionally lift move / carry up to 15 lbs. and occasionally use exertion forces of pushing / pulling of up to 15 lbs.Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects for extended periods of time.Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus.Work Environment :
