Find us wherever there's a challenge to be tackled and an impact to be made. Our Tax and Partner team are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join them. As part of Baringa's finance team, the Partner Finance team prides itself on providing an exemplary service to partners as shareholders of the business from onboarding, their time as active partners and also as they exit the partnership. We are embarking on an exciting journey of building our shareholder finance provision into one that still feels personal but is fully global and scalable.

Joining Baringa's Partner Finance team, you will be the key US tax subject matter expert at Baringa. Our US business has clear ambitions to scale, and this role will support a growing and ambitious global business for broad tax affairs in the US market.

What you will be doing :

  • Identify and proactively manage tax risks that may impact both the US entity and its partners
  • Lead on the tax strategy for our US business, including strategic tax advisory for M&A activity in the US.
  • Review partnership and corporate tax returns, including Federal, State and local tax returns. This will include supporting extension filings, and arranging payments where required
  • Manage the annual revenue allocation to State process, to inform State filings
  • Provide key inputs into discussions, decisions and communication of US entity restructure, as applicable
  • Technical expert and trusted advisor to partners, including presenting to partners via Q&A sessions and 1 : 1
  • Primary contact for US partners with tax filing questions
  • In circumstances where US partners receive income sourced from non-US group entities, lead the design, calculation and communication of our tax equalisation process

Your skills and experience :

  • Relevant experience of working in tax compliance within an LP Partnership environment is essential
  • CPA, Bar Licence, Enrolled Agent or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field is preferred but not essential.
  • Highly adept at effectively communicating complex concepts across various levels to variety of stakeholders from technical experts to our US partner group
  • Engenders stakeholder confidence and trust
  • Proactively provides solutions
  • Is flexible, adaptive and collaborative
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex tax issues in an easily understandable manner.
