Assistant Buyer

Under the direction of the Buyer, develops and implements merchandise plans for assigned categories to ensure that departmental financial plans, objectives, and merchandise strategies are achieved.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Select, develop, and implement merchandise plans for the assigned categories to support achievement of the departmental goals and objectives.
  • Assist the Buyer in the development and achievement of financial goals for the assigned categories.
  • Ensure compliance with established budget parameters and company policies and procedures.
  • Complete special projects, as directed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • BS / BA level education or its equivalent.
  • 1-2 years related experience.
  • Strong planning, analytical, organizational, negotiating and communication skills.
  • Basic merchandising knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
