Responsibilities include supervising staff, ensuring quality control, monitoring equipment, and managing daily production activities. This role follows a Pitman night shift schedule, providing leadership and oversight for production operations during assigned shifts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all operational staff adhere to safety protocols and proper equipment usage.
- Provide ongoing training and technical support to ensure staff follow work instructions and best practices.
- Identify and report any defective or non-conforming products.
- Conduct quality control checks per work instructions and direction from production and quality leaders.
- Maintain product and component traceability through proper use of the Data Collection System, ensuring continuous operation.
- Monitor raw material inventory needed to meet production schedules, restocking and ordering as necessary.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Technician to address and resolve equipment issues.
- Communicate with Lead Hands and Production Supervisors from adjacent shifts to relay key production updates.
- Inform the Production Manager of any concerns related to production, quality, processes, or personnel as they arise.
- Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency, yield, and equipment uptime.
- Maintain proficiency in all production tasks and step in as needed to cover breaks or absences.
- Work overtime when required.
- Focus on minimizing safety risks and quality issues.
- Enhance the technical knowledge and engagement of production staff.
- Maximize equipment uptime while ensuring product traceability and quality.
- Meet production targets and drive improvements outlined by the Production Manager.
- Foster teamwork and collaboration among shift employees.
- Share company updates with the team as needed.
- Coordinate with other teams to drive efficiencies and improvements across operations.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
