Overview
At Plein Air, we build the connective tissue between hospitality brands and the digital ecosystems that power them, from online ordering and loyalty programs to integrated web and mobile experiences.
As an Implementation Specialist , you’ll bridge business needs with technical execution and configuration - translating the operational and digital requirements of restaurant clients into integrated, scalable technology systems. You’ll work directly with platform partners (online ordering, POS, loyalty, delivery providers) and internal teams to ensure seamless communication across developers, client partners and backend systems.
This role is ideal for someone with a technical or engineering background who’s comfortable navigating technical documentation, partner ecosystems, and integration workflows in fast-paced client environments.
Key Responsibilities
API & System Configuration
- Lead technical setup and integration of third-party platforms (online ordering, POS, loyalty, delivery, CRM) into Plein Air’s digital products.
- Collaborate with developers to design and validate partner connections or configurations that ensure secure, reliable data exchange between systems.
Technical Requirement Gathering
Partner with clients and platform partners to gather, clarify, and document integration requirements and workflows.Translate business needs into technical documentation and system specs for development teams.Evaluate technical feasibility of proposed integrations and identify scalable implementation paths in partnership with Solutions Architects, Product team members and DevelopersCross-Functional Collaboration
Serve as the bridge between client strategy, design, and development — ensuring all integrations align with both technical capabilities and brand goals.Collaborate with engineering, design, and PM teams to scope integration projects and forecast technical dependencies.Vendor & Partner Coordination
Act as the main technical point of contact for integration partners such as Olo, Punchh, Toast, or other hospitality technology vendors.Facilitate communication between internal and external teams to resolve API issues and ensure alignment on timelines and deliverables.Quality Assurance & Testing
Conduct and oversee end-to-end testing of integrations across front end staging and production environments.Work with QA teams to validate data integrity, system behavior, and error handling.Post-Launch Support
Provide Tier 2 technical support for integration-related issues.Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity or data sync problems in collaboration with internal developers and vendor support teams.Why Plein Air / Big Colony

Requirements : Technical Skills
Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, authentication protocols (OAuth, API keys), and system integrations.Experience working with restaurant or retail technology stacks (POS, ordering, loyalty, CRM, inventory, etc.) highly preferred.Familiarity with backend systems, middleware, or iPaaS tools (e.g., Postman, Zapier, Workato) a plus.Professional Experience
2–4 years in a technical implementation, integrations, or solutions engineering role within a digital agency or hospitality tech company.Demonstrated experience translating business workflows into system architectures or API-driven solutions.Soft Skills
Strong communication and documentation abilities — you can explain complex systems clearly to both developers and clients.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing multiple concurrent projects.Comfortable working cross-functionally in agile environments.
